Hi all, I am a new member stoked to find this site.  I have been interested in Composite boards for a while and pushing my garage shapes to the next level.  I am also into woodworking (turning) and am impressed with all the boards everyone’s building.  I am currently hacking up a eps/xps board for a new summer stick but want to fire up a comp sand and give it a go.  I have done some research over at swaylocks and found you.  I will browse through your archives and check it out.  Any insight into a starting point (compsand 101) would be appreciated.  Thanks for any input and I look forward to entering the compsand zone.

Hello from a decidedly wet Sydney’s northern beaches... Realsurf tragic, occasional Sways onlooker. G’day Beerfan and Surfoils (where are you Brett?).

Lots to learn, been playing with PU/PE, XPS, EPS, d-cell and just about anything else I can try and fashion into something that floats, except wood. Couple of comp disasters under my belt, so look out!

Should be a great resource, thanks fellows!

Hi Everyone, Peter Hosking here from Empire Foam. Just wanting to say that this site looks and works great and yes I make PU foam blanks BUT  Huie and I have made a blank that will work great for compsand boards, as most would know huie is out of action for a few weeks so I will let you all know what we have made when he's back in action so he can fill in all the details of the CPP type blanks. Hi all.   

I met a Swaylocker out at Lowers named Christian (cj3 on Swaylocks) who was riding one of his own balsa-skinned creations.  Super friendly guy, and got most of the waves.  He turned me on to this site. 

I'm an engineer and also a surfer living and working in the South Bay of Los Angeles, though I'm originally from Huntington Beach. 

I'm trying to decide whether or not to shape a regular PU board first or jump right in to CompSand and am also suffering from analysis-paralysis.  I've got big, high-arched feet and weigh over 200 lbs, so I'm trying to make something that lasts a little longer for the money.  Any opinions?
