Ive Had plenty of non surf related projects on the go lately due to a baby on the way and a new dog.A couple of the most recent ones are a dog kennel with a run, and gates to secure parts of my property so that when the baby starts walking he can get onto the driveway.
The dog kennel was a chance to try my hand at some basic carpentry, it has a plywood doubled skinned kennel on it with eps lining in the centre for insulation, and the run is covered with galvanised chain link wire mesh.
The gates i have been making out of 1inch galv pipe, i have bent them up with an hydraulic pipe bender to almost square, and then welding them to gether and painting the welds with a rust proofing silver paint.I have some 40x5mm flat bar to weld in the center of the gates horizontally at three points(top,center and bottom) which i will bolt 6ft wooden palings to vertically to blend in with the wooden fence yet still expose the galve pipe.
