Super clean Marky!
Under 2kg..... thats unreal, must be a lively board to ride.
My weights have crept up and up, but just for a boards i'm selling.

So fin positioning for a knee board is really different eh.... whats the placement if you don't mind me asking?
Turning must be a whole different thing for a kneeboard? I'm guessing you turn more from the rail than the tail?

I'm just about to start another personal board, I think you've just inspired me to do a light weight one!

Just went for light weight as number one priority, hence glass on fins. Only ridden it twice, yes very lively will take a bit of getting used to. Fins are 17 1/2 and 9, side fins 1 1/2 from rail and toed to 2" off nose.

First time I have used it on a board, stayed nice and white,  only had a few narrow strips from another job and had to scarf 2 pieces to get 1 rail.  Shaping the rails was problematic due to the glue line!

Some guys do ride them standing, must be really loose though.  Move the fins and I think it would be a lot of fun!!

Oh man, i'm really impressed by that logo.
Beautiful.
Thanks for the photo!

Even with glass on fins, thats light. 2 kg without fins is lightweight!

Thanks Kit, a kneeboard friend of mine did the artwork on that, I am really pleased with it too.  This goes all the way back to those printer experiments we were doing way back.  I print these myself, but the clear bits should be white and I didn't want the expense of having them screen printed, kind of never got anywhere with that.  Can you print white with a laser printer?
wrt weight:
The last large block of foam I had, made about 15 boards and I think was slightly higher density than i had previously, this board was made from a 75mm sheet from the hardware store, medium beads, but feels lighter than before. This latest batch of balsa is lighter than before, 2 oz in, 4 oz over, no reinforcement except around fins, sanded finish, Rohacell is really light.  All adds up I guess.  Not really bothered about durability on this one.

hi Mark

I know you have been experimenting with light boards.  Have you made a bord with a single layer of 3 oz yet.  What was the durability like.  I will be using eps core and corcel as shell.  Any leads on cheap epoxy what are you using

Keep well

Hi Swifty, that was 16kg/m3, #1 eps I believe.
I have used 2oz on the outside, but you have to be very very careful with sanding and unless you bag the laminate, the fine weave cloths can trap air badly.  I generally stick with  4oz surfboard cloth and RR resin.
Cheers
