I'm as excited as a kid with a new toy......
Two new toys actually!

I've been cutting veneers for the last few years with a jig that I made for my skill saw.
It works well, but you've gotta hold your tounge just right to get it to cooperate!
Combined with the fact that the Paulownia I get often comes with bark on it, and one side round (thats trees for ya!), its always been a bit of a fiddle.

So, broke student that I am, I managed to track down a couple of deals on some machinery!

Exhibit A - an anchient bandsaw!
I gave it a full tune-up, new rubber, blade, lube, and a new table and fence coming soon.
She cuts like a dream, the old girl is a honey! Made right, back in the day.

Exhibit B - Thickness Planer
Another old-ish tool that is the real deal....
Back in the '80s Ryobi actually made top quality, expensive tools. (made in Japan then, China now)
This was possibly the first model of benchtop thickness planer on the market, so it's a solid industry tool.

Oh man this is easy, making boards is easy now.
I might have to make it a bit harder somehow? Maybe I should shape whilst drunk, just to add that extra degree of difficulty.
Sounds like a plan!
So thats why the photos are blurry..... as seen through my inebriated eyes.

you're stoked!   I got my bandsaw and thickness planer at the same time too...   They just seem to go together like peas and carrots.  Smiley
