Hey surffoils

Somewhere on here there are some pictures of an oil trap to catch exhaust oil, if I remember correctly.
I just exhaust mine into a plastic bottle and pour it back in after each pull, but you can let gravity do it for you if you exhaust up into a vertical chamber with some kind of baffle to allow the oil to cool and condense before it gets into the atmosphere.

Can't recommend oil, I just use a light synthetic engine oil as I figure my pump uses a piston and bore like an I.C. engine. I will phone krisbow who make the exact same pump you show over here and ask them on monday.

wonder if your pump was made in indonesia?!

tomway, I did a google search for vac pump oil and Ive ewmailed a few local Sydney companies who will ship within Australia so I should get my hands on some soon.
I'll work on recovering oil from the exhaust.
leMat, no home depot here unfortuneately, but HD sounds like its got all the good stuff and heaps of junk needed to build almost anything !
Thanks for your suggestions guys, hoots to you both.

So Im stuck because I need more oil for the pump in order to continue but I unwrapped the board and cleaned it up a bit.

Because its just a lot of flat slabs it looks really chunky at the moment.

With all the slabs the same size theyre a bit out of phase now theyre curved and glued and I also noticed that the board has lost about 5mm of rocker in the middle. Do you think thats normal or is it because theres only the perimeter thats holding it rigid ?

Might be something to consider next time.....
