good day sirs.. i would like to ask if it would also be applicable if i use sir bert's composite combination from swaylocks site to making my skimboard.. say i use #1 EPS 1/2 foam core.. epoxy 12mm H60 dcell for rails..then 3mm D80 dcell bottom and deck.. would it be durable knowing i only have 1/2" of #1 EPS with dcell sandwich..

Hi am welcome to Compsand!

One of our members, Sparrow, has made a number of skimboards with the vac method.

I believe that he uses HDF foams tho.

Perhaps he'll comment soon?

Cheers!

from all my years skimming, I have always just seen skimboards that were solid HD foam. The boards are super thin because there is no need for paddle power and you are skimming, just go with some 5/8-3/4" hd foam.
