Hello all, my name is Elliot and I just got back from a year and a half stint in the Southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica.  I have built about 8 compsand boards to date, and have been able to ride all but one.  I must say the technology and rides are incomparable.  I am interested in becoming a member on this site, let me know what you think about my boards.  I am currently getting setup on the east coast of the states.  Anyway on with the boards...

From L to R a 5'10" double bump, quad fish, a 6'10" quad, and a 5'8" battail quad.

Bottom shot of the 6'10", has a rolled forward vee, double to single concave, and lokbox

A 5'10" fish, unfortunately I didnt get to ride this one.

Made the fins from some balsa, and drew a little tree on there.

Hi Elliot,

Welcome to the site!

What timber are the skins on the 6'10"?   I really like how the grain looks... Is that a large single sheet.

You're heaps lucky spending that much time in Costa!  Got any photos or videos you'd care to share of that?

yeah mate
im interested in some of your build schedules
any info on that would be great

we are looking to open to new members in the near future for sure!
at the moment we are still building the site
organizing data and archival information.
and organizing an articles entry page with live update feeds etc.
so some time over the next month we can look at perhaps hooking you up
once everyone all meets and gets along okay Smiley

Hey Doug,

Thanks for the compliment.  The 6'10" is made out of a book matched 5" wide veneer called Black Limba.  If you are looking to use veneer on a board, its good to make sure its not paper backed and that its book matched so you can line it up all nice.  Also good to use a little thicker glassing schedule, or heavier denser foam etc.  I have some pictures on my webshots page ... http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/551940458vhZFch

The white board I am riding in the pictures is a poly board that I shaped while I was down there, it was one of those magic board.  I have some videos too but they are too large to upload on here.
