still havent decided yet
seems a pretty straightforward sort of car/tractor
was 800$
prolly another 1000 to get it legal
but you know hows theses things can turn out

I saw some 4x4s in ecuador that looked just like that, totally wanted to get one!  They remind me 0f the old little subaru wagons I used to rally in highschool.  Great stuff!

LADA NIVA
like a lego set car
everything unbolts
chasis and panels all in one
had the doors and windows out today
grinding out rust
yuk
not to bad
i have to have it off my mates property by next sunday
have the doors at home for grinding and bogging
will do a roughy for its safety test and then get some new doors when i got the cash

drives like a bloody tractor on the road
but unbeatable off road
white rock here i come

Hey Paul. I had one of those about ten years ago. Great off road but a real underpowered pig on. Gas guzzler, prone to rust, and the butt of many jokes. Poor build quality etc etc. But lots of fun in the rough stuff. I used mine to travel between Cape Palliser and Whiterock which it was perfect for.

hey karl
well thats what i got her for white rock and few other hard to get spots
alls maximises surf time in napier
i have access to north and south oceans
north waimarama
and a breeze through the shingle
parts are so cheap for the thing
im doing the bog thing on the doors at the moment
but ill probably just replace them all
over the next year or two
new door shell is only 200$
bit more in the body topsides but nothing underneath
good excuse to buy that mig welder ive been dreaming over

Paul, you know the paper road between Whiterock and Palliser is locked off now (very few have a key). And even driving into WR from the Martinborough side needs a 20 min walk into Seconds etc. So you can get as close as possible with a regular car.

Make sure you do a good writeup when you put the turbocharger in it so I'm well prepared when I move to Ecuador.

all rust cut out and repaired
courtesy of resin research and carbon fibre and silane
gunna paint the whole thing with quick dry machinery enamel
nice and cheap paint at 60$ for the whole car
in for a warrant today

just gotto replace some wiper rubbers and the muffler

should be on road for some beach work camping trip next week
