I have been a Republican, but quit buying their lies during Bush.  I voted for Obama.  He is a product of hard work and working his way up from nothing.      I'm proud of my country for finally living up to the claims and electing an average American who worked his way up as president rather than a blue blood like Mccain or Bush that had the silver spoon firmly planted in their mouth since childhood.

Also....45 years since Civil rights and blacks couldn't ride on the Bus and etc.   We have come a long way.

Now..I hope he lives up to the expectation.

Who Obama?   He does look more serious.  I suspect he has just been given the real news from Satan of how Fcked we truly are.   I think he is smart and a person who will build coalitons of intelligent folk to get things started in the right direction.  I hope he worries more about the problems than silly Democratic ideology.

Wow who opened the can of beans?
This is a good web site www.globalresearch.ca.  Don't believe everything that is fed to you in the mainstream media, and read up on the Swiss political system, the only 'true' democracy in the world.  It will make you realise how fuked up our systems are (I'm from Australia). Peace.

jeez no one wants to talk

barry
was raised right
by his grandparents
who "hanai'd" him
like alot of local families do

he knows aloha
he knows the prejudice of being "popolo"

he also knows what its like
to have folks from
different cultures
and different classes
work togethor (Lokahi) for a common goal

He body surfs so he understands
the power of the ocean and its currents
more intimately
than a standup surfer ever can

all good principles to apply to daily life

just like living frugally within your means
and working hard to make something of yourself
letting your talent do your talking
rather than the benefits of privilage

the corruption of DC power
and the monsters than hide there
are his biggest enemy

its not the tasks or challenges ahead
he'll motivate the rest of us to take care of those things
for each other
whether the world follows
is another question

we'll just have to see
how he holds up with his 'tutu's" guidance
or whether she gave him enough strength
to persevere
when she was here.

Hi Huie,

I'm with Bernie and Solo on this one.  Sure, he surrounds himself with some of the tried and true Democratic machine.  But one thing I've learned is that in politics you need to grease the wheels in order to get the machine running.  If he tried to have a totally "fresh" administration it would never be able to get anything done.  Congress (especially the senate) is one of the slowest, stickiest, interest laden, governmental bodies around.  I think the President Elect is a smart guy, and wants to actually accomplish things.  The only question will be, how much is he willing to give up, for how much gain?  The other question, is how soon will we see your new blanks over here, for back yard shapers?

By the way, LA is burning down right now.  I went out to check the surf this afternoon at the pier.  The sky was dark too early, and the sun was a deep pink.  Ashes fell on my shoulders.  I hope everyone close to the fires has gotten out safely.

If I had been a candidate at the time when Wall street crashed like that, I'd have been walking backwards quickly...

What a job to put your hand up for!!!
