New toy in my shop!
«
on:
January 20, 2009, 09:10:14 PM »
Picked this little puppy up yesterday, got it all bolted down and the packing grease scrubbed off, then played with it today.
I've been wanting a little mill like this forever, makes me feel like a real mad scientist now... Feel like making some rube-goldberg devices.
So, this begs the questions... What does this have to do with compsand, and how did I justify getting this tool?
Answer:
Why yes, I am being intentionally ambiguous. More details soon, this is going to be cool.

Jealous of the machinery you have mate.
Although I have access to some serious stuff in both my uncles workshop and at university, i's love to have it all right there in a well laid out shop

Well, not too close of attention, the project isn't moving quite that fast.
Here's the final draft of the "piece" in question, after removing excess material and milling in a lip.

I'd take some shop space and free time instead, though.
Can't wait to see the final project Jarrod

Sorry about the foot-dragging. I'm trying to get the whole project to a point where I can spring it all at once. Problem is, I know that the guy for whom this project is being put together is lurking on the forum, and I don't want to let him see "behind the curtain" until I have a finished product to show off.
Soon.
