Members of the CompSand group use the latest composite surfboard materials and techniques to build high-performance surfboards.
In fact many of our members use a blend of high-tech techniques and materials to achieve results years, and probably decades, ahead of what "epoxy popout" producers are able to produce in a custom board. Many of our members also utilise CAD (Computer Aided Design) to design surfboards and share those designs within the CompSand group.
Our technologies and techniques would best be described as "bleeding edge" within the surfboard building world. As a rule our members are forced to look outside the surfbourd building sphere to high-tech composite industries (such as the aerospace and satellite industries) to continue the improvement of our specialty custom boards. And applying those technologies to surfboard design and manufacture demands a certain level of creativity and experimentation.
